Lily Mosaic Virus

My stargazer lily, one of the things I most look forward to seeing in my garden, picked up a mosaic virus. I haven't finished reading about this, but I suspect I'll have to rip the whole plant out :-(

I wish I had some nice pictures of it, all I've got are the ones I just took.

Denuded Lily

Yesterday I pulled off all the diseased leaves. It probably won't make that much of a difference as to whether the whole plant becomes infected, but I can always hope. And I thought the lily beetle was going to be the thing to beat this year :-p

The Asiatic Lilies have over 50 buds among them and appear healthy so far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll have a good year and not get infected by the mosaic virus.

Update, July 5

I've left the lily in the ground since discovering the diseased leaves. Newer leaves since then are showing some issues, some type of mottled variegation that's consistent with the potyvirus. I'll probably pull the plant once the flowers blossom. Should I pull it sooner?
